Graduated: Kharkiv Pharmaceutical institute (1972).
Career:Kharkiv’s Pharmacy №2 (1972-1976),a senior pharmaceutical inspector of the Pharmaceutical Office of Kharkiv Regional Executive Committee(1976),Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department´s assistant of professor (1977-1986), Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department´s associate professor (1986-2004), the acting head of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department (1988-1993, 1995-1988), from 2005 she is a Medicinal Chemistry Department´s professor.
PhD thesis:«Synthesis, structure and biological activity in the series of arylhydrazines acyl derivatives».
Doctoral thesis: «Synthesis and research of biologically active 2-oxo-4-hydroxyquinoline derivatives».
Scientific research: targeted synthesis in a series of derivatives of nitrogen-containing heterocycles based on methylenactive compounds with the aim of creating new medicinal substances; development of innovative technologies for water disinfection and detoxification.
Scientific achievements: author of more than 260 scientific and educational works (including 2 textbooks and 6 manuals). Hirsch Index is 8.
Taran S.G. is a co-author of a potential thyreostatic substance “Thyreoquin” (preсlinical trials), was a scientific advisor of 4PhD in Pharmacy. Taran S.G. was a member of the special council at ZSMU (specialty – pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy). In 2009 she received a grant from the Canadian branch of USTC «Globalpartnership» to participate in the conference “Science and Technology for the people”, Toronto, Canada. In 2016 was the member of the international scientific conference (Bochum, Germany).
